a term for a female slave, for those who practice Gorean D/s.  The letter “K” is seen as a mark of a slave.

a term for a male slave, for those who practice Gorean D/s.  The male equivalent of kajira.  A male slave to a free female dominant in Gorean D/s.

KAMI:
a shibari technique that involves weaving the hair with rope to hold the head immobile.

KARADA (HISHI KARADA) or ROPE DRESS:
a rope harness that is tied around the torso in a series of diamond-shaped patterns.  A karada does not restrain the person but creates ideal anchor points for restraining.  A part of shibari (Japanese bondage).



KENNEL PLAY:
puppy play in which a person is confined to a kennel or doghouse or locked out in a backyard.

a slang term for bolt cutters.  Bolt cutters are a good device to have on hand for safety when playing with handcuffs, padlocks, chains, or other metal bondage devices.

KINK:
involving or given to unusual sexual behavior.  Sexual desires and/or behaviors that exceed conventional sexual practices, as a means of accentuating the intimacy between sexual partners.  Kink is sometimes used to describe all BDSM activities, and the BDSM subculture as a whole.

KINKSTER:
a person who identifies him/herself as kinky or apart of the BDSM sub-culture scene.  It is also a term used for someone who is kinky, yet does not necessarily identify themselves as either dominant, submissive or a switch.

KINKY:
a person who has kinks, given to unusual sexual behavior.  A person who identifies themselves as a part of the BDSM subculture scene.  Anyone or anything having an unconventional sexual quality.

KITTEN PLAY:
a form of animalism in which a person, most often a submissive, takes on the role of a cat.

KINK-FRIENDLY:
refers to any person, establishment, or company that is sympathetic to kinky people.  For example: when seeking a therapist about BDSM matters, it's best to visit a kink-friendly therapist.

KNEE PILLORY or DOGGY STYLE PILLORY:
a very low pillory on a short frame designed to restrain a person in the kneeling position.  Also refers to a portable pillory device that restrains a person’s wrist near their ankles, typically while the person is on their knees.  The terms knee pillory and doggy style pillory also refer to a spreader cuff that has cuffs for both the wrist and the ankles.



KNIFE PLAY:
any activity or play involving a knife.  Usually done for show, or for a psychological effect, sometimes to achieve fear in a submissive.  Knife play is also sometimes done for the purpose of cutting the skin or scarring.  All knife play is considered edgeplay and is therefore dangerous.  People have been charged with a serious crime to include manslaughter, due to accidents that took place during knife play.



KNOUT:
a type of whip with multiple lashes made of twisted wire and usually knotted to cause extra pain.  Sometimes the term knout is used for a cat o' nine tails.



KOOSH FLOGGER:
also known as the dreaded Koosh flogger, a flogger made with the same type of rubber strings used to make a child's toy manufactured by the Hasbro company called a Koosh ball.  The rubber strings in the Koosh flogger are much longer than the Koosh ball toy.  The device administers a distinct pinpointed stinging pain, considered more painful than most other floggers.
