VACUUM BED:
a device used in BDSM play consisting of two sheets of material (usually latex) sealed together like a bag and connected to a vacuum pump. When a person lies inside, removing the air creates a tight suction fit that restricts or prevents movement. Because the material fully envelops the body, respiratory access must be provided through a breathing tube, gas mask, or direct aperture in the sheet. This practice carries a severe risk of asphyxiation and requires constant vigilance, proper safety protocols, and quick-release mechanisms.

VAGINAL HOOK:   see ANAL HOOK.

VCT:
an uncommon acronym for vagina and clitoris torture. The opposite of cock & ball torture. Women needing or having the same urges that some men do in regard to having their genitals tortured is considered rare. Due to the sensitivity of the clitoris, VCT is considered exceptionally dangerous.

VAMPIRISM:
any act that involves blood play. It also refers to the fetish attraction to the vampire lifestyle, a gothic subculture that role-plays as vampires, similar to the depictions in Bram Stoker's Dracula, primarily focusing on the erotic nature of the stories.

See related BLOOD PLAY.

VAMPIRE GLOVES:
gloves used for sensation play or abrasion play, which have short spikes or needles protruding from the palms and fingers. Vampire gloves are usually made from the same kind of metal spikes found on the backs of studs fitted for jackets, except instead of closing the sharp spikes, they are left exposed on the gloves.

VANILLA:
the general term for anything not kink-related. It is a term for the mainstream public.

VANILLA WORLD:
a term for anyone outside of the BDSM world or community who does not have an interest or involvement in BDSM. The opposite of the BDSM world.

See related contrast BDSM WORLD.

VIBRATOR:
a device designed to stimulate the genitals by way of vibrations for sexual gratification. There are many different types and styles, with varying intensities of vibrating motion. It is most commonly used to stimulate the female clitoris to bring her to orgasm.

VIOLET WAND:
a device used for electrical play (a form of sensation play) that releases a low-current, high-frequency stimulation to the body. It is usually made of glass tubes that glow in bright colors, typically blue, purple, or violet. When the device is touched to a person's skin, it releases a buildup of static electricity, giving the person a rolling, shock-type sensation.

VIPER:
an instrument used for striking, featuring two narrow rubber lashes that taper to a point.

VIXEN:
the female equivalent of a stag. A female who shares her male partner with other females without any sort of humiliation or degradation attached to the act. Unlike a cuckquean, a vixen does not attach any feelings of shame to her male partner engaging in sex with other females. The term vixen also refers to a spiteful or quarrelsome female.

See related BRAT, related contrast STAG, and CUCKQUEAN.

VOYEUR (VOYER):
a person who gains sexual pleasure from watching others when they are naked or engaged in sexual activity. It sometimes refers to a person who enjoys watching others in pain or distress.

VOYEURISM:
the act of being a voyeur. The practice of watching others engaged in sexual activity. Some individuals in the BDSM community incorrectly use the term voyeurism to also include those who practice exhibitionism.

See above VOYEUR, and see related CANDAULISM, and EXHIBITIONISM.
